The Academy of the Company Theatre builds self-confidence in students through the performing and visual arts. It effectively provides a supportive, challenging, and fun environment for students to explore acting, singing, and dancing. We are impressed by the organization’s dedication to dignity for all, and its sensitivity to the needs of youth who are LGBTQ+. Clearly this is a place where meaningful discussions can be had, while students make new friends and learn new skills. The organization’s efforts to find teachers and directors of color are also laudable.
The Academy at the Company Theatre is headed up by Creativity Foundation Legacy winner Melissa Carubia.
