The Phoenix School Music Program
based in Salem, MA
The Phoenix School in Salem, Massachusetts effectively provides a creative education to children K-8th grade. Under the leadership of Creativity Foundation Legacy winner Dennis Shafer, the school is currently expanding its music program.
The Creativity Foundation is especially impressed with the school’s inquiry-based model of learning, and its emphasis on nurturing creative growth, tenacity, and citizenship.
The Creativity Foundation’s grant will be used in 2023 a) for special instruction for Jose Reyes, an accomplished violinist who will be providing premiere violin instruction to the students in group lessons and b) for scholarships for students who need help renting/buying a musical instrument, or scholarships for private music instruction.
